Its All About Pivot Points

Great educators PIVOT.  We look at the results of our hard work, analyze successes and challenges and then just like a basketball player on the court, we plant our foot and pivot based on what we see at that moment.  We can have plans, but the exact direction of that pivot depends on this specific group of kids and their specific needs.  What makes a good classroom pivot point is not just having the data…but having the RIGHT data for the RIGHT meetings–the RIGHT timing to make the RIGHT adjustments.  That means an assessment system with great formatives, and the flexibility of curriculum to respond.  

It’s all about the coordinated and responsive moves we can make to line up what information is in whose hands, and help those individuals to become empowered in making the data driven adjustments.
